THE WIND IN YOUR SAILS

Even with all the equipment, all the technology, all the knowledge – without the wind, your sailboat will not get you to your destination.

It’s like being without power – you are in the mercy of the tide, the current!

This is very much the same with our Christian life today –

life without power is a life that lives according to the currents and the tides of this world.

All the knowledge that we have acquired will be of no benefit to us without the wind or the function of the Holy Spirit.

CAPTION: If there is no wind, then paddle, who needs a gym.

The life of self effort, do it by works, do it yourself victory.

Who needs to be faithful?

Who needs God?

The wind in our sails is God the Holy Spirit!

Without Him, we may have the knowledge but we have no power. Many today teach a self-help gospel, teachings that will give you bullets of how we can get things done like:

10 ways to make your spouse happy…

Ways to deal with teens…

How we can influence people…

How we can have prosperity…

Grace has covered everything…etcetera!

These are not bad teachings and it’s really good to know about these things. But in the middle of the sea, even with all the equipment and gadgets, without the wind, we cannot get anywhere – even our gadgets will not be able to help us achieve our goals and reach our destination.

1 Cor 8:1b-2

We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.  The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know.

God the Father finished His work on the sixth day and rested on the seventh.

Jesus also, before He gave His life on the cross said “it is finished”. Only the Holy Spirit has not yet finished His work because He is not yet finished with you, with all of us. But the work of the Holy Spirit is also coming to a finish, He will be poured-out upon you because you will be asked to do things you have never done before.

Acts 7:51

“You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

This is probably the most serious problem the world has today – people who resist the work of the Holy Spirit.

Ptra Cynthia said: “Never Fall,”  and do remember that we only have 1 year to prepare as the Prophet warned.

We really don’t have much time!

Jesus devoted 3 chapters in Matthew to show us how many people resist the Spirit.

  • In Matthew 23, Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, the religious people of His time who think they can get to heaven by their good works – same as in our time.
  • Chapter 24, He told them the sequence of what would happen in the last days…
  • In the 25th chapter, He told of the foolish virgins who failed to enter, and the foolish servant who was thrown into darkness!

If we are to be strict, in the parable of the Ten virgins, five or 50% of the Christians fell, They were not allowed to enter the gate, they were actually disowned!

Matt 25:11-12

“Later the others also came. ‘Sir! Sir!’ they said. ‘Open the door for us!’  12 “But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.”

Who are these people who are likely to fall or not be allowed to enter?

2 Tim 3:1-5

But mark this: There will be perilous times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

The word ‘perilous’ is the Greek word ‘chalepos’ which means hard, bad, dangerous, and evil or demonic.

What makes this time dangerous are not the wars, nor calamities, but the people who became lovers of themselves which is demonic in every way. All that people care about is himself – what he likes, his comfort, his pleasure.

The 1st commandment of the satanic bible is ‘do what you want’, self indulgence.

Jesus said Love Your Neighbour As Yourself!

Matt 24:9-12

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold…

Because of the great persecution!

2 Tim 3:1-5

But mark this: There will be perilous times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, (root of all evil-666 mark) boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

Quite self explanatory!

Boastful in Tagalog is mayabang.

Hindi nangangahulugan na maporma o iba ang dating kundi malabis na pagpapahalaga sa sarili – akology.

Proud is mapagmataas. Iba ang tingin mo sa sarili mo, nakakahigit ka o mababa kaysa sa iyo ang karamihan.

Abusive is mapang abuso o lapastangan.

Itoy walang galang o walang pagpipitagan – its blasphemy in English.

2 Cor 5:10

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

Jesus is coming back again…

Are you ready?

I hope and pray that you become a part of this group…
